About
Wye Valley Osteopathy is osteopath Leone Booth’s practice in Hereford. Leone graduated from the European School of Osteopathy in 2001 and has over 20 years of experience, much of it overseas: three years in family practices around Auckland, New Zealand, where she also started her own clinic, and seven years in a multidisciplinary clinic in Hong Kong, working alongside GPs, nutritionists, surgeons and massage therapists.
Between those posts Leone completed a two-year master’s degree in paediatric osteopathy at the Osteopathic Centre for Children in London, working at the centre and in outreach clinics including the neonatal unit at Barnet Hospital. Children are now her speciality at Wye Valley Osteopathy. She treats newborns to teenagers up to 18, supports families of children with disabilities and learning difficulties, and treats women during pregnancy and after birth. Young children do not have to lie down and can sit on the floor or a parent’s lap and play, babies can be fed during treatment, and teenagers are given time to talk through what is troubling them. Parents can also arrange a phone call to talk about their child without them present. A parent or carer must stay for the whole session for patients aged 16 and under.
Leone has also studied clinical Pilates, and prescribing exercises is an important part of her treatment. A first appointment lasts an hour and includes a detailed case history, an examination and a discussion of what she finds, and she encourages you to ask questions throughout. She will refer you to your GP if she feels that is more appropriate.
A new adult appointment costs £80 and an adult follow-up £65; for children, an initial appointment costs £65 and a follow-up £50. Appointments can be booked by phone or online, and the clinic has disabled access. Leone is registered with the General Osteopathic Council.
