About
Village Osteopathy is an osteopathy and sports injury clinic on Penn Road in Wolverhampton, close to the city centre. Michael Andidorou founded it in 2006, after graduating from the British College of Osteopathic Medicine in London, and has over 20 years of experience.
Michael is qualified as a naturopath as well as an osteopath, and that shows in how he works. He combines osteopathy with sports massage, medical acupuncture and exercise, and gives advice on posture, ergonomics, lifting and diet aimed at stopping problems coming back.
Sports injuries are a particular interest. Michael has written rehabilitation programmes for athletes with complex cases, and offers sports massage alongside osteopathy for martial artists, runners, triathletes and anyone who trains regularly. He says a good deal of his work now comes by referral from local GPs and other specialists.
Village Osteopathy treats patients from adolescents to the elderly. Beyond sport, the problems Michael lists include low back pain, disc injuries, work-related injuries, chronic pain, headaches, osteoarthritis and posture-related issues, and he notes that many of the complaints he sees come from long hours spent sitting at a desk or driving.
A first session lasts around 45 minutes. Michael asks about your concerns, medical history, daily activities and lifestyle, assesses your posture and movement, and explains the diagnosis. Later sessions take about 30 minutes.
The fee include initial consultation at £55 and subsequent treatment at £45, with concessionary rates for pensioners and students. The clinic is recognised by major health insurers, including Bupa and AXA PPP.
Early, late and weekend appointments are available, and there is on-site parking with disabled facilities. Michael is registered with the General Osteopathic Council.
