About
Hazel Grove Health is a countryside clinic in Bucknell, South Shropshire, run by osteopath and acupuncturist Jane Morris. Jane qualified from the British School of Osteopathy in 1987 and has over 35 years of experience. She spent most of her career in Cambridgeshire, where she owned a large multidisciplinary clinic working alongside osteopaths, physiotherapists, podiatrists, Alexander technique teachers and traditional acupuncturists, before returning to her home county to practise on her own.
Movement rehabilitation is Jane’s special interest. Alongside hands-on treatment she uses functional movement therapy and exercise prescription, looking at how you move, your strength, fitness and balance, and how they fit together, with simple movements to practise at home. She has helped people from a 75-year-old getting back to walking after a fall to runners completing their first half marathon, and she also draws on yoga in her work. Hazel Grove Health treats adults; Jane does not treat children or use cranial osteopathy.
Jane trained in Western medical acupuncture in the late 1990s, then completed full traditional acupuncture training in 2007 and a master’s degree in acupuncture in 2009, and she may combine acupuncture, moxibustion or cupping with osteopathy if you agree. K-Laser therapy is also available, after an initial osteopathic appointment to check it is suitable.
At your first visit Jane goes through your intake form and history, examines how you move, and discusses her findings, with the chance to ask questions at any point. The examination is only with your full consent and can be stopped whenever you wish. She then explains your treatment options and how many sessions you are likely to need before starting treatment.
An initial osteopathy or acupuncture appointment of 45 minutes to an hour costs £65, with 40-minute follow-ups at £55. Hazel Grove Health is open Wednesday to Friday and can be booked online. There is parking directly outside on a gravel surface; if you use a wheelchair or walking aid, let Jane know when booking so the temporary ramp can be put out. Jane is registered with the General Osteopathic Council and the British Acupuncture Council.
