About
Greenfields Osteopathic Practice is John Atyeo’s home-based practice in the Greenfields area of Shrewsbury. John graduated from the British School of Osteopathy in 2004 and has over 20 years of experience, having run his own practice in Oxfordshire and worked as an associate in several others before moving to Shropshire.
From 2008 to 2014 John was a clinic tutor on the osteopathy degree courses at Oxford Brookes University, supervising student osteopaths as they treated patients, and that teaching background may show in how carefully he explains your problem. He came to osteopathy himself after a rock-climbing fall left him with low back pain that osteopathic treatment helped resolve.
John is a competitive runner who has completed marathons and now takes part in local fell races, and he is a qualified assistant coach with England Athletics. In Oxfordshire he ran a business assessing and improving running styles, so runners and other active patients may find his experience particularly relevant.
A first appointment at Greenfields Osteopathic Practice includes a full case history covering your health, lifestyle, occupation and activities, followed by an examination. John discusses his findings with you, and consent is sought before examination and before any treatment. Treatment may include soft tissue work and massage, muscle energy and release techniques, joint articulation and manipulation, along with advice on exercise, stretches and lifestyle.
An initial consultation of around 60 minutes costs £48, and follow-ups of around 45 minutes cost £43. Greenfields Osteopathic Practice is open from 7:30am to 9pm on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, with weekend appointments possible by arrangement. The treatment room is on the ground floor, and there is free on-street parking. John is registered with the General Osteopathic Council.
