About
City Osteopaths has been established in Wolverhampton since 2002 and offers osteopathic care for people experiencing back and neck pain, sciatica, joint problems, muscle strains and sports injuries. Its three osteopaths—Daniel Bailey, Jennifer Bailey and Simon Bell—bring different areas of experience to the practice, including sports rehabilitation, pregnancy and paediatric care, and exercise coaching. All three are registered with the General Osteopathic Council.
Daniel Bailey has practised as an osteopath since 2002 and worked with the Wolverhampton Wanderers first team for five seasons. His background also includes treating professional dancers, musicians and other performers. He holds a master’s degree from Keele University’s School of Physiotherapy and a doctorate from its School of Medicine, where his research explored exercise for musculoskeletal pain through studies in NHS physiotherapy services. Alongside more than 15 years in higher education, he has undertaken strength and conditioning training, which he incorporates into sports injury rehabilitation.
Jennifer Bailey graduated from the British College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2002. Her additional training includes cranial osteopathy, paediatric and obstetric care, and breastfeeding peer support. She has worked on the maternity ward at New Cross Hospital, helping mothers and babies find comfortable feeding positions and providing information about feeding and infant care. Jennifer also offers one-to-one clinical Pilates, with sessions shaped around the patient’s goals or injury requirements.
Simon Bell holds a master’s degree in Osteopathic Medicine from the British College of Osteopathic Medicine, where he received the clinical prize for best graduate. Before becoming an osteopath, he worked as a gym instructor, personal trainer and sports massage therapist. He integrates exercise into osteopathic care and provides the practice’s 30- and 60-minute sports massage appointments. This may be useful for someone looking for a practitioner who understands both everyday movement difficulties and strength-training goals.
At City Osteopaths, care may combine joint mobilisation or manipulation, soft tissue massage, exercises, acupuncture and advice. Sports rehabilitation can also include guidance on training loads, technique and strength work. The practice provides rehabilitation following procedures such as joint replacements, disc surgery and knee arthroscopy. Where further investigation is needed, clinicians can refer for a private MRI or write to the patient’s GP to suggest tests.
Appointments are available Monday to Friday from 8.30am to 7pm and on Saturday mornings. The clinic lists parking and step-free access; patients requiring accessible entry should advise when booking. They are registered with all insurers except BUPA & Axa.
