About

Bewdley Osteopathic Practice is headed by Richard Hughes, a registered osteopath with two thriving practices located in Bewdley and Presteigne, where he has dedicated over two decades to patient care. His journey in osteopathy began with his qualification from the ESO in 1995.

With a rich and diverse background, Richard’s expertise extends beyond his private practices. He has provided care to NHS patients and served as a valued practitioner for various rugby clubs and Olympic and World Champion athletes. Before venturing into osteopathy, Richard established himself as a sports therapist, contributing his skills to a tennis club and triathlon events. Additionally, he excelled as a head gym instructor and manager, showcasing his multifaceted commitment to health and wellness.

Richard employs a conservative approach in his treatments, emphasising minimal manipulation and high-velocity thrust (HVT) techniques. Instead, he utilises a range of other methods, including articulation, muscle energy techniques, fascial unwinding, and cranial osteopathy, among others.

However, if a manipulation-based approach aligns with your preferences and needs, he is more than willing to accommodate. He also offers cranial osteopathy as an option for those who prefer it. He often integrates cranial osteopathy, providing a holistic approach to your well-being.
